Data & Privacy Policy
We handle all data with the strictest standards, particularly the data of the children and communities we serve.
Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate our programs: names and contact information of donors and volunteers, device serial numbers for inventory tracking, and anonymized student enrollment statistics. We never collect sensitive personal data about the children in our programs.
Device Data Sanitization
Every donated device undergoes DoD 5220.22-M military-grade data sanitization before being redeployed. This involves multiple-pass overwriting of all storage media. Donors receive a signed certificate of data destruction upon completion. No donor data is ever retained on a deployed device.
Student Privacy
Student names, photos, and stories are shared only with their explicit written consent from a parent or guardian. Student sponsors receive updates through anonymized or consent-approved channels. We never sell or share student data with third parties.
Donor Privacy
Donor information is kept confidential and never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Donation records are retained for 7 years as required by RJSC regulations, then permanently deleted. We use industry-standard SSL encryption for all online transactions.
